Since the group was formed it has been totally self funding and financed. Although the building is owned by Lancashire County Council we look after the maintenance and everyday running ensuring that the centre is in kept in a good state of repair with a clean, warm and welcoming environment for our clients.
Funding is maintained by profits from the lunch clubs, raffles, events etc. We have also been given donations towards kitchen equipment, general funding and specific items from local businesses, councillors, local residents and visitors to the centre. As you can imagine all donations are greatly appreciated and put to good use within the centre.
Over the last year besides the general running costs we have targeted specific items to improve the safety and useability for our guests, these include a new raised toilet to assist our less abled guests, fit new security lights and improved the lighting outside the building, installed a new steel handrail down the slope to the main door and we purchased and sited a storage container in the car park as our storage space is minimal.
